I will start a new position (tenure-track assistant professor & museum curator) at the University of Hong Kong (HKU) from October 2022. Super excited!
March
I was invited to gave a Zoom talk (in Chinese) for Southwest University on the 17th and am happy to have had over 300 attendees at the talk!
February
I gave a Zoom talk at the Bochum diffusion seminar series - a great honour for me and it's good to hear new feedbacks! The talk is about applications of apatite diffusion chronometry to estimating magma ascent time-rates, and the link to the recorded talk can be found at "PRESENTATIONS" page.
January
I wrote a pop-science article (in Chinese) about the recent Tonga eruption. It's published on guokr.com(果壳网)and has received >200,000 readings. All my pop-science articles there have reached ~470,000 readings.
2021
September
I have joined Trinity Hall (Cambridge) as PDRA (October 2021 to October 2023).
April
I have started my postdoctoral research at University of Cambridge on mantle chemistry and temperature.
2020
October
The last chapter of my Ph.D. thesis about investigating the effusive-explosive transition at Merapi volcano using apatite is now published in Journal of petrology.
September
I will give an invited talk about two apatite-based online calculation tools (ApThermo and ApTimer) at AGU Fall meeting (virtual) in December.
August
Our experimental/modelling work of a new apatite diffusion chronometer is now published in EPSL.
July
I gave an invited talk at JpGU-AGU joint meeting (virtual) and tutored in Goldschmidt diffusion workshop (virtual).
2019
November
On the 8th, I defended my Ph.D.! The first chapter of my Ph.D. thesis on a new apatite-melt hygrometry based on thermodynamics and existing experimental data is published in Geochimica et Cosmochimica Acta.
